Tina K. Forster
Tina Forster was born and spent her childhood in the San Francisco Bay area of Northern California. She attended college in the Los Angeles area, and holds a BA in Studio Art from Scripps College in Claremont, as well as certification in Spiritual Direction from the Houston Cenacle's Spiritual Direction Institute.
While she initially worked as a graphic desinger and illustrator, her first love has always been the media of cloth and fiber, whether it be surface embellishment, quilting, weaving or needlework.
She discovered doll making 20 years ago as a way to use her creative skills when her children were young, as it combined her love of fabric and figurative art. Decorative figures gave way to more expressive pieces as time went on, incorporating healing and spiritual elements.
She has lived in the Houston area for the past 34 years, and currently makes her home in Fulshear, far west of the city. She is a member of Texas Association of Original Doll Artists (TAODA) and Spiritual Directors International. Her dolls have been exhibited at several locations in the Houston area, including The Jung Center and the Houston Center for Contemporary Craft. She can be reached at email@example.com.
